"Wood Chip Marge" is an 8-ft. tall chainsaw carving On the theater's 2nd floor of Marge Gunderson, a character in the Coen Brothers' 1996 movie "Fargo." The gift from MGM Home Entertainment depicts Marge bundled up in winter cop duds and mittens.

The cast-offs of a long-defunct gas station, artfully piled. 45 feet high. Gone in 2012, the pile was taken apart in an astounding display of tourism short-sightedness.

Standing Rock has stood on its pedestal since 1886. Now it's in the middle of a parking lot, but it cannot be moved.

Harvey, ND
0.2842 miles long. Proclaimed the state's shortest highway by an official act of the North Dakota legislature in March 2023. Plans are in place to erect Shortest Highway signs at either end, which are visible from each other.

An outdoor sculpture of a big, cement eagle, which appears to be scooping up an equally big, shiny, silver ball with its wings. Deserves contemplation, or at least a snapshot.

Unique artwork of a chicken made of old agricultural machinery is equal parts goofy and crazy. Has inexplicably stood outside a street corner gas station for many years.

An official sign proclaims Lehr to be, "The Smallest City in USA Situated in Two Counties." It has only a dozen streets. Visit for the sign.

23. Muffler Man From New Jersey (Gone)
Fargo, ND
Formerly stood in Seaside Heights, New Jersey; moved here in late 2021. The movie "Fargo" had a giant Lumberjack statue; this may have been an attempt to mimic it. Disappeared in the summer of 2025.
